DESCRIPTION:The presentation will focus on the role of Cardiac
Magnetic Resonance (CMR) in patients with myocard
ial infarction (MI)\, as well as the prognostic ut
ility and limitations of imaging biomarkers\, illu
strated by a case example. There will be a brief d
escription of SoftMech- an EPSRC funded to establi
sh a world-leading interdisciplinary Centre for Ma
thematics in Healthcare focused on soft tissue mec
hanics. This will be followed by an overview of so
me of the work carried out in Glasgow.
