DESCRIPTION:*Cambridge Clinical Research centre in Affective disorders pre
 sents:*\n\n*Dr Martina Di Simplicio* will present a talk on \nthe proof-of
 -concept trial "Imaginator" investigating a brief psychological therapy fo
 r self-harm in young people. Self-harm is a common transdiagnostic behavio
 r in adolescents and young people\, and repetitive self-harm is a risk fac
 tor for future psychopathology.\n\nAdmissions following self-harm in Cambr
 idgeshire in a 2015 county survey were reported as higher than the nationa
 l average in the U.K. To date\, effective easily accessible and age-specif
 ic interventions targeting self-harm are missing. The Imaginator trial del
 ivers two face to face sessions of an intervention combining techniques fr
 om motivational interviewing and imagery-focused cognitive therapy\, follo
 wed by support via a smartphone app. \n\n*The talk will run from 12.30 to 
 1.30pm at the Herchel Smith Building for Brain and Mind Sciences on the Fo
 rvie site at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge (Location: http://c2ad.

 shes to attend. This includes mental health professionals\, researchers\,
