DESCRIPTION:Pancreatic cancer is one of the most aggressive hu
man malignanices with high lethality and poor prog
nosis. A promising approach for targeted optimisat
ion of treatment of pancreatic cancer for a specif
ic individual is the ex vivo modelling of an indiv
idual's response to treatment. Tissue engineering
offers a lot of potential on that direction. With
the use of appropriate biomaterials and micro-arch
itecture one can mimic tissue elements in a reprod
ucible and low cost way\, allowing ex vivo studies
of standard and alternative treatments as well as
the collection of important patient specific biol
ogical information related to treatment response.
This talk is focusing on the application of differ
ent types of biomaterials and structures for scree
 ning of pancreatic cancer.
