DESCRIPTION:On 2nd October 2016 more than 50% of Colombian vot
ers said NO to the peace accord signed by the Colo
mbian government and the FARC-EP guerrillas.\nAfte
r more than 60 years of war\, many are now trying
to understand why this happened.\nIn this workshop
\, Dr.Josefina Echavarría Alvarez will apply the m
ethodology of Elicitive Conflict Mapping to help d
evelop an understanding of the Colombia no-vote\,
examining it as an episode that is fuelled by a la
rger epi-centre of conflictive dynamics and relati
onships.\nElicitive Concept Mapping is a tool whic
h seeks to operationalisethe philosophy of transra
tional peace and the art of elicitive conflict wor
k.\nDr Echavarría Alvarez is a Colombian academic
working at the University of Innsbruck within the
UNESCO Chair For Peace Studies.\nTerence Bevington
\, PhD candidate at the Faculty of Education and C
PERG member\, will share some insights and present
some provocative proposals based on his recent st
udy visit to Colombia at the height of the referen
dum campaign.\nThe workshop will conclude with que
stions and discussion on the issues raised.
