DESCRIPTION:Many different models have been proposed for a statistical int
 erpretation of  mixed DNA profiles. Regardless of the model\, a computatio
 nal bottleneck lies in  the necessity to handle the large set of possible 
 combinations of DNA profiles  for the contributors to the DNA sample. <br>
  <br>I will explain how models can be specified in a very general setup th
 at makes  it simple to compute both the likelihood and many other quantiti
 es that are  crucial to a thorough statistical analysis. Notably all compu
 tations in this  setup are exact\, whilst still efficient. <br> <br>I have
  used this setup to implement the statistical software package  DNAmixture
