DESCRIPTION:I am a Postdoctoral Researcher at the EDC\, working in autonom
ous vehicle interfaces (TASCC project\, HI:DAVe part). I recently complete
d my PhD at the Multimodal Interaction group\, University of Glasgow. In t
his talk\, after giving a short overview of my current project\, I will de
scribe the topic of my PhD\, some of the experiments I did\, and communica
te some interesting findings. I will argue that using multimodal displays
in the car (using different senses to warn the driver\, like sound\, vibra
tion and visuals) can have benefits. I will also discuss that this method
should not be over-utilised\, so as to avoid increasing driver workload an
 d therefore driver distraction.
