DESCRIPTION:Scientists have long been attempting to find the basic buildin
 g blocks which make up the Universe. This quest has prompted the developme
 nt of large particle accelerators such as the Large Hadron Collider at CER
 N\, and has reached the strange sub-nuclear world of quarks\, gluons and l
 eptons. The talk will give an insight into the development of the subject\
 , the latest discoveries\, including the Higgs Boson\, and pointers to the
  future.
