DESCRIPTION:Causal set theory is based on twin hypotheses that spacetime i
s fundamentally discrete and that the \nstructure in General Relativity th
at will survive at the deeper level of understanding is the spacetime caus
al order. \nI will explain how causal set discreteness is compatible with
Lorentz invariance and give an overview of the \nsubject and where it stan
ds in regard to kinematics (structure of causal sets)\, dynamics (on and o
f causal sets) and \nphenomenology (how the discreteness could reveal itse
 lf to us).
