DESCRIPTION:The acute stress response comprises a cascade of n
 eurochemical changes\, exerting intricately timed
and widespread effects on neural excitability. I
will argue that these changes enable comprehensive
shifts in neuronal functioning at the level of la
rge-scale networks. I will then show how these dy
namic shifts can explain stress-related changes in
  cognitive functioning.
