DESCRIPTION:The brain is a directed weighted graph with neurons as nodes a
 nd synapses as edges. The structure of the graph determines the dynamics o
 f neural activity. At the same time\, correlations in neural activity dete
 rmine synaptic weights. The grand challenge of neuroscience is to construc
 t a theory relating neural structure and dynamics to computation. I will p
 resent our progress towards this goal using an online matrix factorization
  framework.
