DESCRIPTION:Astronomers have long realised that reactions on t
 he surface of dust grains play an important role i
 n the formation of molecules in the interstellar m
 edium (ISM)\, in particular those found frozen out
  as interstellar ices. To help understand the gas-
 grain interaction in the ISM\, our group is undert
 aking a range of experimental and theoretical inve
 stigations of the adsorption\, desorption and form
 ation of interstellar ices.
