DESCRIPTION:Microsoft eliminated the need to spend countless hours in manu
al software testing and uses customer insights and big data instead to imp
rove the product. Cosmos is Microsoft’s Big Data repository built on top
of Azure. All of Microsoft telemetry and insights data are uploaded and e
xtracted from Cosmos. It is used to understand usage patterns to better de
sign a feature. \n\nHow concepts of experimentation and A/B testing are us
ed to expose different feature sets to different customer segments. Improv
e reliability and availability of our features and applications - understa
nding crashes and errors and collecting and analyzing data remotely. \n\n
The concept of 'dogfooding' is very big and widely used in Microsoft. Micr
osoft takes pride in introducing the concept of dogfooding and widely reve
red by other companies. It is now being adopted in other companies too. Wh
at is dogfooding\, how do we do it\, the process\, bugs found\, fixed rate
. \n\nFew case studies and example of how Office used Big Data to improve
the overall experience given to end user customers.\n
