DESCRIPTION:I will discuss aspects of half-BPS boundary conditions in thre
 e dimensional gauge theories with N = 4 supersymmetry\, focussing on simpl
 e examples. I will then propose a physical origin of `symplectic duality'\
 , which is a remarkable correspondence between mathematical structures ass
 ociated to pairs of holomorphic symplectic spaces.
