DESCRIPTION:Dame Carol is an Expert Adviser to the Department of Health\, 
 the Chair of Nuffield Trust\, the leading independent advisory body for he
 althcare policy in the UK\, and the Principal of Newnham College. Original
 ly a consultant rheumatologist\, she was President of the Royal College of
  Physicians and Director of the Royal Free Hospital\, where she establishe
 d an internationally renowned centre for research and treatment of connect
 ive tissue diseases. Dame Carol is a champion of women in science and was 
 named one of the 100 most powerful women in the UK.\n\nShe will discuss he
 r landmark paper for the Department of Work and Pensions\, tackling the ch
 allenges of poor health on employment and proposing reform to government p
 olicy on fitness to work. Dame Carol will also explore the future outlook 
 for the NHS.\n\nEveryone is welcome. Free for members\, £2 on the door fo
