DESCRIPTION:We give an explicit construction of the anticyclotomic p-adic 
 height pairing on an elliptic curve and discuss two applications. The firs
 t concerns the "shadow line" considered by Mazur and Rubin in a study of h
 igher rank elliptic curves. The second is a generalization of "quadratic C
 habauty" using anticyclotomic and cyclotomic p-adic heights to recover int
 egral points on elliptic curves over quadratic number fields.
