DESCRIPTION:1. In this talk\, I examine migrant experiences and coping str
ategies in Kawakami\, a Japanese village located in Northeastern Japan. By
providing voices of Chinese peasant workers who are normally both invisib
le and inaudible\, I aim to explore the aspirations of the workers and the
ir interpretations of their overseas experience in Kawakami. I draw primar
ily on ethnographic fieldwork conducted in Kawakami from early July 2012 t
o late November 2012.	\n\n2. In this talk\, I will introduce my paper that
discusses a newly emergent intimate relationship between Chinese women an
d Nigerian men in contemporary China. The main part will focus on the cult
ivation of an Africanized love\, habitus and morality\, which substantiall
y create a feeling of ‘diaspora at home’ for the Chinese. This researc
h is based on an anthropological fieldwork in Guangzhou\, China (from Sept
ember 2012 to September 2013) and in Lagos\, Nigeria (from December 2013 t
 o January 2014).
