SUMMARY:Fluorescence imaging on the micro- and the nanoscale - Dr Clemens
Kaminski\, The Laser Analytics Group\, Department of Chemical Engineering\
 , University of Cambridge

CONTACT:Duncan Simpson
DESCRIPTION:Fluorescence microscopy is one of the most versatile and sensi
tive tools to investigate the chemistry in biological processes. This tal
k will focus on variants of the technique that permit information to be ob
tained at sub-wavelength resolution. Applications will be presented which
include morphological studies of diseased blood cells\, the diagnostics o
f novel\, environmentally responsive polymers\, and the study of protein i
 nteractions inside living cells.
