DESCRIPTION:This year marked the 82nd death anniversary of one of South As
ia’s iconic revolutionaries\, Bhagat Singh. His heroic struggle for a re
volutionary change and overthrow of imperialism through a militant struggl
e has been a source of inspiration for generations. Bhagat was executed by
the imperialist despots in the wee hours of March 23\, 1931 at the tender
age of 23\, but he had left a mark in the annals of history of the class
struggle in the region. \n\nBhagat Singh was a fervent torchbearer of the
workers struggle of the subcontinent. He rejected the prejudices of caste\
 , creed\, nationality\, race\, gender\, and\, of course\, religion.\n\nPre
sently\, with the crisis of Capitalism bringing misery\, poverty and hunge
r to the people of the sub-continents\, the political relevance of Bhagat
Singh's struggle is gaining wide acceptance among the youth of the region.
\n\nSome of us are gathering to commemorate the death anniversary of the g
reat revolutionary Bhagat Singh. We will also discuss the class struggle i
n South Asia and also shed some light into events that led to the Partitio
n of India of 1947. There will be some revolutionary poetry.\n\nPlease com
e for a thought provoking discussion.
