DESCRIPTION:MR imaging has a key role in investigation of unremitting loin
  pain and/or haematuria in pregnancy and can distinguish between physiolog
 ical problems and calculous obstruction without the need for ionising radi
 ation.\nAdnexal emergencies which can present as an acute abdomen include 
 torsion\, rupture and haemorrhage.  These may result in puzzling appearanc
 es on CT examinations for ? ureteric colic or ? appendicitis.  The imaging
  features and clinical utility will be described.
