DESCRIPTION:Literature in the ASD field has highlighted the need for a mor
e effective framework of disseminating evidence-based interventions into t
he community. Research has also demonstrated that social networks play cri
tical roles in the spread of health-related knowledge and resources. The S
DP talk will examine the social networks of parents of children with ASD i
n order to determine the role that key social network variables play in th
e uptake of both evidence-based and non evidence-based interventions. Give
n that parents of children with ASD are particularly influential in choosi
ng services and advocating for their child’s needs\, understanding the c
urrent spread of ASD intervention to parents will allow for more effective
models of disseminating intervention-related information into the communi
 ty.\n
