DESCRIPTION:Recently\, a remarkable duality between colour and kinematic \
ndegrees of freedom in non-Abelian gauge theories (BCJ duality) has been \
nconjectured. Provided the duality holds\, one may obtain scattering \namp
litudes in gravity theories in a straightforward manner (the "double \ncop
y"). This talk will review these developments\, before describing a \nrece
nt study which provides all-order evidence for these conjectures\, \nusing
the known infrared properties of General Relativity. The talk \nshould be
of interest to both particle and string theorists working on \nthe struct
 ure of scattering amplitudes.\n
