DESCRIPTION:In this talk we will address the problem of the existence of s
tationary knotted and linked vortex tubes for the Euler equation. The exis
tence of these structures is a very interesting question in Fluid Mechanic
s\, which dates back to Lord Kelvin's studies of thin vortex tubes. We wil
l discuss some contributions to this problem (jointly with Alberto Enciso)
using Beltrami fields. This builds upon (and significantly improves) our
previous work on linked vortex lines of steady solutions to the Euler equa
 tion.\n\n
