DESCRIPTION:THIS EVENT IS NOW FULLY BOOKED\n\nP.D. James is the author of 
 twenty books\, most of which have been filmed and broadcast on television 
 in the United States and other countries. She spent thirty years in variou
 s departments of the British Civil Service\, including the Police and Crim
 inal Law Department of Great Britain’s Home Office. She has served as a 
 magistrate and as a governor of the BBC. The recipient of many prizes and 
 honours\, including the Diamond Dagger from the British Crime Writers’ A
 ssociation\, and an induction into the Crime Writing Hall of Fame in 2008\
 ; she was created Baroness James of Holland Park in 1991.\n\nThis talk is 
 one of a programme of events run by Lucy Cavendish College which are open 
 to the public\, and is one of the College’s Women’s Word events for 20
 12.\n\nBooking is essential and places are limited so we advise that you b
