DESCRIPTION:The mod p local Langlands correspondence for GL(2\,Qp) (due to
  Breuil\,\nColmez\, Emerton)\nassociates mod p representations of this gro
 up to two-dimensional\nrepresentations of the\nabsolute Galois group of Qp
 .   I'll discuss some of the problems arising in\nconstructing\na generali
 zation to extensions F of Qp.  In particular\, I'll explain how the\nrepre
 sentation\nof GL(2\,F) distinguishes among non-split reducible Galois repr
 esentations\nfor unramified F.\nThis is joint work with C. Breuil.\n
