DESCRIPTION:Gravitational waves can represent a unique probe o
f the very early\nuniverse. This seminar concentra
tes on a particular source of a stochastic\nbackgr
ound of gravitational waves\, namely a primordial
first order phase\ntransition. The gravitational w
ave signal is generated by the collision of\nthe b
roken phase bubbles and by the magnetohydrodynamic
turbulence in the\nprimordial plasma stirred by t
he bubble collision. It will be shown how\nthe mai
n features of the gravitational wave spectrum can
be predicted by\ngeneral arguments based on the so
urce properties\, such as its time\nevolution and
space structure. Detection prospects will be discu
ssed\nespecially for the electroweak phase transit
 ion\, in connection with the\nnew NGO/eLISA missio
 n.
