DESCRIPTION:Branching processes with selection can be seen as a probabilis
 tic genetic model for fixed populations. In this talk\, I shall concentrat
 e on a class of particle systems first investigated by Eric Brunet and Ber
 nard Derrida in 1997\, introducing the model as well as a discussion as to
  some of the results and expected results I have been working on this past
  year.
