DESCRIPTION:Vandana Shiva’s work highlights the fundamental connection b
 etween human rights and the protection of the environment. Dr.Shiva offers
  solutions to some of the most  critical problems posed by the effects of 
 globalisation and climate change on the poorest and most populous nations.
  She is a philosopher\, environmental activist\, and eco feminist.\n\nHer 
 first book\, "Staying Alive" helped redefine perceptions of third world wo
 men\, and has since authored more than 20 books adn over 500 paperes in le
 ading science and technical Journals. Time Magazine identified Dr. Shiva a
 s an environmental “hero” in 2003 and Asia Week has called her one of 
 the five most powerful communicators of Asia.\n\n
