SUMMARY:Illuminating diverse RNA silencing pathways using the Arabidopsis
Argonautes - Ericka Havecker\, Gene Silencing Group

DESCRIPTION:Argonaute (AGO) proteins bind small RNA molecules and are the
effectors of RNA silencing. Arabidopsis thaliana has 10 AGO proteins. We
have used a combination of AGO immunoprecipitation\, sRNA cloning\, high
throughput sequencing and EST tag sequencing to uncover diverse RNA silenc
ing pathways present in Arabidopsis. The talk will present an overview of
known AGO function and relay our current understanding of one AGO (AGO5)
that contributes to regulating promoter-associated non-coding RNAs and epi
 genetic marks.
