DESCRIPTION:Argonaute (AGO) proteins bind small RNA molecules
and are the effectors of RNA silencing. Arabidops
is thaliana has 10 AGO proteins. We have used a c
ombination of AGO immunoprecipitation\, sRNA cloni
ng\, high throughput sequencing and EST tag sequen
cing to uncover diverse RNA silencing pathways pre
sent in Arabidopsis. The talk will present an ove
rview of known AGO function and relay our current
understanding of one AGO (AGO5) that contributes t
 o regulating promoter-associated non-coding RNAs a
 nd epigenetic marks.
