DESCRIPTION:Over the past several years\, representations of fundamental g
 roups of compact complex hyperbolic manifolds into Hermitian Lie groups ha
 ve been studied using bounded group cohomology on the one hand and Higgs b
 undles on the other hand.  In this talk\, we will discuss some aspects of 
 the interplay between these two approaches.  This is joint work with Tobia
 s Hartnick.\n
