DESCRIPTION:Gauged Gromov-Witten invariants for symplectic man
ifolds equipped with a Hamiltonian Lie group actio
n are defined by counting solutions of the symplec
tic vortex equations. They were introduced by Cie
liebak\, Gaio\, and Salamon for actions of arbitra
ry compact Lie groups on aspherical manifolds and
by Mundet i Riera for semi-free circle actions on
compact monotone manifolds. The main reason for t
he additional technical assumptions are complicati
ons in obtaining transversality. In this talk\, I
will present a perturbation scheme for the vortex
equations that solves these transversality proble
ms in a natural way\, and explain how to define ga
uged Gromov-Witten invariants for actions of arbit
rary compact Lie groups on monotone symplectic man
ifolds.\n
