DESCRIPTION:We study the (closure of the) locus of intermediate Jacobians 
 of cubic threefolds in the perfect cone compactification of the moduli spa
 ce of principally polarized abelian fivefolds for which we obtain an expre
 ssion in the tautological Chow ring. We also discuss possible generalizati
 ons of this locus in higher dimensions. \nThis is joint work with S. Grush
 evsky.\n\n
