DESCRIPTION:How do you measure emotion objectively? What does emotion have
  to do with autism\, sleep\, epilepsy\, decision making\, learning\, and t
 he Doritos mouse?  Why is computational emotion harder than computers winn
 ing at chess or go (by orders of magnitude?)  This talk will show live  de
 monstrations of new technologies for measuring and communication emotional
  information\,  including a new way to read heart rate using an ordinary w
 ebcam and ordinary white light. \n\nIn addition to being a full-time profe
 ssor at MIT\, Picard has recently co-founded with el Kaliouby (U Cambridge
  PhD) a company\, Affectiva\, where she serves as chief scientist and chai
 rman.
