DESCRIPTION:What do pure mathematicians do?  And\, whatever it is\, is it 
 useful?  In this talk\, I aim to answer these questions by looking at an e
 xample: infinity. Does it exist?  Is there anything bigger? And why should
  we care?\n\nDr Brambley\, a fellow of Gonville & Caius and a former under
 graduate and graduate of Pembroke\, is an applied mathematician currently
