DESCRIPTION:How can people and businesses working in the Creative Industri
 es engage with the Cambridge high technology cluster and vice versa?\n\nAl
 an Blackwell's presentation will explore this and tell us what the future 
 holds for businesses at each end of the spectrum.\n\nAlan Blackwell is Rea
 der in Interdisciplinary Design at the Cambridge University Computer Labor
 atory\, having prior qualifications in professional engineering\, computin
 g\, comparative religion and experimental psychology. He has over 20 years
  experience of designing industrial systems\, electronic and software prod
 ucts.\nHe has taught design courses and supervised postgraduate design res
 earch students in Computing\, Architecture\, Psychology\, Languages\, Musi
 c and Engineering. He studies public policy in cultural sector research\, 
 and serves on advisory boards for initiatives such as City University Cent
 re for Creativity in Professional Practice\, and Anglia Ruskin research in
 stitute in Cultures of the Digital Economy (CoDE).\nHe was a director of L
 iving East\, the cultural consortium for the East of England for 5 years\,
  and a member of staff at Cambridge Consultants. He is founder and co-dire
 ctor of Crucible\, the Cambridge network for research in interdisciplinary
