 ls of journalists\, artists\, politicians and academic experts will debate
  the meaning of the Declaration of Independence in its own historical mome
 nt\; the effects of the Declaration and the American Revolution on the res
 t of the world\; and the enduring significance of 1776 for the United Stat
 es in the twenty-first century.\n\nGiven the turbulent political landscape
  of our current moment\, we’ll ask our distinguished guests to consider
