 m his book of the people whose revolutionary ideas made the countryside we
  know today.\n\nThe way land is farmed\, nature protected and decisions ma
 de are as different now compared to the Edwardian era as a bicycle is to a
  jet aircraft.  There was no National Farmers Union\, no CPRE\, the Nation
 al Trust and RSPB were tiny and owned little or no land.  But in the 20th 
 Century there were revolutions in farming\, who owned land\, the way devel
 opment was controlled and the place of nature in the countryside.
