DESCRIPTION:The talk is an invitation to study compositions of GL(n) repre
 sentations. This fairly natural operation is called plethysm (from the Gre
 ek plethysmos\, multiplication). Almost a century after it was first consi
 dered\, very basic questions about this operation remained unasked. We wil
 l briefly touch on several new lines of research involving crystals\, cate
 gorification\, log-concavity\, and Ehrhart theory.
