DESCRIPTION:We consider some implications of the two-term Weyl asymptotic 
 formula for the Laplacian\, and its connection to the Euclidean geometric 
 isoperimetric inequality. We derive what might be seen as proof-of-concept
  results which we then illustrate with several quantitative (and mostly sh
 arp) results. This is based on joint work with Isabel Salavessa\, Rui Wang
  and Miguel Gama.
