DESCRIPTION:My poster will present recent findings using mathematical mode
ls of large-scale brain dynamics to interpret EEG signals\, with applicati
ons to understanding neurological disease. One application will focus on d
eveloping methods to forecast seizures in advance and using mathematical m
odels to reveal the mechanistic underpinnings of these forecasts. The seco
nd application examines how modellingcan quantify the mechanisms underlyin
g neurodevelopmental adversity. Both applications rely on novel\, long-ter
m wearable EEG recordings\, which offer a promising alternative to traditi
 onal clinical-grade EEG.
