DESCRIPTION:The phenomena occurring at the disappearance of a magnetically
  ordered state\nupon tuning a non-thermal parameter like pressure\, compos
ition\, or magnetic\nfield are presently among the central topics in the f
ield of strongly\ncorrelated electron systems. Quantum criticality in meta
ls not only leads to\na breakdown of Fermi liquid theory but could also pr
omote the formation of\nnovel (quantum) phases like spin-liquid behavior\,
unconventional\nsuperconductivity or electronic nematic ordering. In the
 talk\, I will discuss\nrecent low-temperature thermodynamic and transport
experiments on f-electron\nbased heavy-fermions\, ruthenates and iron pnic
 tides.
