DESCRIPTION:Miss Jolien Veldwijk will talk about her active involvement in
  projects in Afghanistan which encourage peace-building processes and stre
 ngthen the position of women in these countries.\n \nDetails about Jolien:
 \nShe completed a Master of Science Programme Conflict Resolution and Gove
 rnance at the International School of Humanities and Social Sciences in Am
 sterdam. Her studies focused on the empowerment of women within the framew
 ork of (post-war) reconstruction. In particular she conducted research in 
 Kabul\, Afghanistan with Self Help Groups for Women. She now works for fro
 m Concordis International who work with individuals and groups in\nconflic
 t situations to build relationships across conflict boundaries. Her goal i
 s to continue being an influence on peace-building processes\, hopefully w
 ith the possibility to strengthen the position of women within this contex
 t.
