 y assemble into higher categories. These higher categories often carry add
 itional structures\, depending on the specific context. In this talk\, I w
 ill address the question: What are the additional structures present on hi
 gher categories of topological defects for different tangential structures
 \, such as orientations or spin structures? Along the way\, I will review 
 mathematical aspects of the study of topological defects and highlight ope
 n questions and problems.
