DESCRIPTION:The question of whether sub-wavelength cavities ca
n alter the transport properties of quantum materi
als is currently attracting a great deal of attent
ion. In this talk I will first present a theoretic
al framework [1] that allows to quantify the impac
t of dark sub-wavelength cavities on the propertie
s of quantum materials. I will then show that a pa
 radigmatic magneto-transport phenomenon in two-dim
 ensional (2D) metals\, i.e. Shubnikov-de Haas osci
llations\, is modified by the modes of a sub-wavel
ength cavity [2]. This effect is intrinsic\, total
ly unrelated to disorder\, and stems from the fact
that the polariton modes of the cavity alter the
Landau parameters of the underlying normal Fermi l
iquid. As an illustrative example\, I will discuss
explicit calculations of the Fermi liquid paramet
ers of graphene in a planar van der Waals cavity c
omprising natural hyperbolic crystals and metal ga
tes. Finally\, if time allows\, I will show that s
ub-wavelength cavities can boost the critical temp
 erature of non-phonon superconductors [3].\n\n\n[1
