DESCRIPTION:In this talk I will give a brief review of symmetric orbifolds
  in two dimensional conformal field theories. I will describe the topologi
 cal defect lines associated with (non)invertible symmetries and some of th
 eir properties in these theories. I will discuss which of these TDL surviv
 e deformation of the symmetric orbifold by marginal deformations in the tw
 isted sector. Some applications to holography will be discussed.
