DESCRIPTION:Quantifying information and uncertainty in terms of entropies
has proved invaluable in our understanding of classical and quantum inform
ation theory. But can these concepts be extended to other physical theorie
s? Here we consider a general definition of entropy for any physical theor
y\, which reduces to the Shannon and Von-Neumann entropy in the classical
and quantum case. We examine the properties and limitations of this quanti
ty\, with particular attention to `box world'\, a hypothetical physical th
eory in which all non-signalling correlations exist.
