DESCRIPTION:Major mental illnesses are increasingly understood as disorder
s of brain development. Neuroimaging studies of brain development can help
track healthy brain maturation – and may have the potential to identify
deviations from normal development linked to mental illness.  However\,
large samples are required to capture reliable neurodevelopmental patterns
and define links to psychopathology. Open sharing of such large-scale dat
a resources dramatically amplifies returns on scientific investments.  Ho
 wever\, the process of aggregating\, curating\, harmonizing\, and sharing
large-scale data present many obstacles.  This talk will focus on the rat
ionale\, challenges\, and lessons learned from the Reproducible Brain Char
ts (RBC) initiative:  an open data resource for psychiatry and the develo
 ping brain.
