DESCRIPTION:The stories we tell about ourselves as humans and the power of
technology impact how we design and invest in our future and how we engag
e AI. Increasingly\, the story is that humans are inefficient and replacea
ble compared to AI. A gloomy view of humankind has become mainstream\, cat
ering to a future without trust – a future with weak democracies.\n\nThe
documentary The End of Humanity by Andreas Dürr and Jan-Marc Furer explo
res this narrative and probes alternative views. It encourages creative an
d critical thinking about a future worth wanting and the tools that allow
us to build it. We need a global and concerted effort to invent a humane f
uture for all.\n\nThe documentary The End of Humanity will be followed by
a post-film discussion about AI and the future of humanity with a panel of
experts:\n\nGraham Budd | The Faraday Institute for Science and Religion\
n\nRt Revd Steven Croft | Bishop of Oxford\n\nDr Claire Benn | Leverhulme
Centre for the Future of Intelligence\n\nDr Nick Spencer | Theos\n\nRabbi
Dr Harris Bor | London School of Jewish Studies
