DESCRIPTION:Research in artificial intelligence (AI) is advancing rapidly\
 , and its impacts on society and politics are becoming increasingly signif
 icant. Therefore\, there is a growing need to examine the moral\, ethical\
 , and political implications of AI. The aim of this seminar is to give an 
 introductory overview of technology ethics\, to afterward discuss the inte
 rsection of AI\, ethics\, governance\, and political theory\, and provide 
 concrete knowledge for technically trained students so they can profession
 ally address these complex ethical questions\, such as: Are technologies w
 e build value-free? Bias and fairness in AI algorithms\, Transparency and 
 explainability of AI systems\, Data privacy and security concerns in AI ap
 plications\, Accountability and responsibility of AI developers and users\
 , Human agency and autonomy in the age of AI\, Impacts of AI technologies 
 on justice and distribution\, Ethical implications of job automation and t
 he future of work\, Effects of AI on human well-being and flourishing\, AI
  and the environment\, Ethical implications of AI research and development
  including military applications and autonomous weapons\, amongst many oth
 ers.
