DESCRIPTION:Using a wide range of sources\, from physiology textbooks to p
 opular parenting books and pharmaceutical advertisements\, Celia Roberts a
 nalyses the multiple ways in which sex hormones have come to matter to us 
 today. Bringing feminist theories of the body into dialogue with science a
 nd technology studies\, she develops tools to address one of the most impo
 rtant questions facing feminism today: how is biological sex conceivable?\
 n\nDr Celia Roberts is a Lecturer in the Department of Sociology at Lancas
 ter University. She has strong links with the Centre for Gender and Women'
 s Studies\, the Centre for Science Studies\, the Division of Health Resear
 ch\, and the ESRC Centre for the Economic and Social Aspects of Genomics (
 CESAGen). Dr Roberts’ research centres on the body\, health\, reproducti
 on\, sexuality and aging.\n
